The fast food industry also present financial advantages over other types of restaurants: it has few
costs since it employs mostly unqualified and young workers, it does not spend much on advertising
and brand promoting since most of the brands present on the market beneficiate from their
strong image and a loyal customer base.
Moreover, the menus and decorations of the stores are
standardized, and this contributes to cost savings.
The fast food’s industry attractiveness :
The fast food’s industry is attractive, and this because, as seen previously, it has a lot of key success
factors and the market size is quite big.
Indeed, even if the US market appears saturated on this
segment, there is a high growth potential in developing countries where habits are changing and
standards of living are rising up.
All these elements lead to a slow catching up of the western way of
living and these factors contributes to the great potential that represents those emerging countries
for the fast food market.
As for the European countries, it is easily observed that there are far less
fast foods present than in the US.
This tendency can be explained by a slight difference in the way
of life of these two regions, but this is not unlikely to evolve.
Indeed, Europe has the most basics
kinds of fast foods: sandwiches ones.
They have not experienced yet the different other types that
exist in the US or elsewhere, meaning the chicken specialized ones, or the seafood or Mexican food
ones.
As a result, Europe can also be considered as a high growth potential market.
Moreover, it is
not totally certain that the US market is reaching a saturation stage since the diversification of the
product line towards healthy products can open new possibilities in a country where health concerns
are increasing.
Economic impact in Australia of banning fast foods :
Why banning fast foods ? Fast food is a very different matter than other things which are
banned/controlled such as alcohol or tobacco.
No one needs to smoke or drink alcohol, but
everyone needs to eat.
Any amount of tobacco is harmful, but fast food can be eaten in moderation
without harm.
The harm caused by abusing fast food is limited to the eater, while those that abuse
alcohol or tobacco can harm others through drunk driving and second-hand smoke.
Fast food is a multi-billion dollar industry.
The elimination of millions of jobs and the support
mechanisms behind them would be devastating to the economy.
Many people will be unemployed
Their elimination would force society to slow down.
More people would have to eat at home, but
people like students who can't cook or live in hostel or alone will be in difficulties.
this is not fast food to be banned but people should learn to control himself and not abused.
Moreover, banning fast foods will cause a recession in the country.
Banning fast foods will have
bad consequences mainly in schools.
It does not prevent students eating junk food in school.
banning the junk food in schools will only
make student bring in more junk food.
better things that should consider a change besides
something simple as junk food when there are people failing, people being suspended and people
just constantly disobeying rules.
in some cases it may encourage students to sell junk food within
school grounds because of the demand for junk food which can lead to suspension or detention.
The
food in schools isn't necessarily healthier than the simple junk foods found in vending machines.
a
lot of the food are processed through different chemicals for preservation.
Also, deprivatoin of junk
foods in schools will only cause students to over indulge in junk foods.
If a school is worried about
junk food in vending machines, why not replace them with healthier snacks and drinks? The school
is actually gaining profit with the use of vending machines that could possibly be donated towards
different aspects of the school such as programs, classrooms and/or a guest speaker..
