Demophon - Mythology. Greek The son of Metaneira and King Celeus of Eleusis. Demeter, the sorrowing mother of Persephone, found refuge at the court of the king and his wife, who asked her to look after their infant son, Demophon. This Demeter did, performing some goddesslike magic along the way.
