In 1965, the first gay protest in North America history occurs and in 1971, it was the first gay pride march in Canada on a cold wet August morning.

Between 1969 and 1981 was the only period in human history when everybody, straight or gay, was free to do what they wanted sexually.

It is only in 2003, The Canadian gay marriage become the law of the land.

Now we can see a gay couple in commercials and I do not feel any discomfort seeing this on my television.

Lesbians and gay community have changed the world. The government, back then, did not do anything to help the homosexual to affirm who they are by criminalized sexual intercourse between two human beings of the same sex, the society didn’t help either the lesbian and gay community to make them part of the society.

And last but not least, the homosexual wouldn’t admit to being homosexual because they didn’t want to be judged .

But now in 2014 the homosexuality is no more a taboo subject of conversation but still have some work to do with it.

I certainly wish, in less than 50 years, the homosexual will be part of the society perfectly without any judging. 786 words. »
