Harper  Lee's  novel,  "to  kill  a  mockingbird",  shows  different  ways  of  courage.    In  the   novel  the  courage  is  shown  in  different  forms  and  sometimes  it  is  a  little  thing  who   makes  the  different.  The  three  types  of  courage  in  the  novel  are  :  the  courage  by  telling   the  truth,  the  courage  by  staying  in  a  minority  and  the  courage  to  change.   The  courage  is  defined  by  doing  what  you  are  afraid  of.  The  courage  is  explained   through  the  eyes  of  Scout.         The  courage  to  tell  the  truth  is  illustrated  by  Tom  Robinson.  He  gives  his  testimony   because  he's  accused  of  having  raped  Mayella.  In  those  years  there  was  racial  prejudices   and  a  black  man  will  automatically  be  inferior  than  a  white  man.  During  the  trial  Tom   Robinson  could  have  lied  about  his  accusation  because  he  already  knew  that  he  will  lose   the  case  but  he  prefered  to  tell  the  truth.  He's  so  honest  that  he'll  do  a  big  mistake  by   telling  that  he  felt  sorry  for  her.  [214]His  mistake  is  that  a  black  person  couldn't  in  any   circumstances  feel  sorry  for  a  white  person.     Dolphus  Raymond  shows  also  a  way  of  courage  by  telling  Jem  and  Scout  why  he's  always   pretend...
