follow.
Human survival is characterized by the
fear of death more specifically the fear of the
unknown.
The boundaries within a human can
survive has been crossed over in the movie.
In
the second version of the story of Pi the cook
turn into murder and canibalism however in the
first story althoought pi in surrounded by water
he cannot drink and food he can barely catch pi
put aside his principles to simply survive.
On a hand , Pi on the life boat is paradoxely
alone.
Loneliness causes people to feel empty
alienated , craving human contact which in Pi's
situation is what causes him to enter in a
conflict with his iner self.
The ocean
represents a hidden metaphore of an obstacle
which pi can't cross to fulfill he's needs to
human contact.
One of the ironic imagery fetch
toward a representation of richard parker as the
alter ego of Pi as the primitive instinct of pi
emerged while he was crawling throughout
loneliness, despite that the company of one or
the other does not fill the chasm that separates
him from civilization , instead his presence
pushes to act primitive way..
