« Coline KERSAC’H TD3 Commentaire Civilisation Britannique : The Character of his Royal Highness W.H Prince of Orange: The text submitted to our study named “THE CHARACTER OF HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS W.H Prince of Orange” was printed for Randall Taylor in 1689 and written by Terry Edward (1590 - 1660), who was an English chaplain at the English Embassy to the Great Mogul and an author, who wrote for example “A Voyage to East-India” (1655).

The Prince of Orange is the title given to the sovereign of the Principality of Orange, which was a feudal state in Provence in modern-day France, held by sovereigns in the Netherlands.

William II (1626 – 1650) was the title holder from 1647 until his death, he was married to Mary, Princess Royal, the eldest daughter of Charles I of England, his only child William III became then the King of England, Ireland, and Scotland.

So now, we must question ourselves, what was the impact that William II had on the principality? To begin with we will see how the Royal Family is highlighted by the author (I) and in a second part how the Battles of William II are depicted (II). I. The Royal Family highlighted The royal family is clearly really respected and even complimented extensively, the author uses a lot of adjectives to describe them, for example: “Courage”, Prudence”, “Glorious”.
