The Book Thief
(the film adaptation)
1.
Introduction
Hello everyone, today I am going to talk to you about “The Book Thief”.
The book was published in 2005, and the movie was released in 2013.
I
have seen this movie 10 days ago and was very impressed by it.
I have
seen it two times – first in French, then in English.
The main actors are Emily Watson, Geoffrey Rush, Sophie Nélisse, Nico
Liersch and Ben Schnetzer; the voice of Roger Allam is the voice of the
Death.
The Book Thief is a historical (and dramatic) story, written by Markus
Zusak and is his most popular book.
The story has been adapted in film by
Michael Petroni and Brian Percival was the director.
The movie (historical/drama) was very successful and I think that it is
because it is a very touching story set in a dramatic context.
It plays
during World War II in a small German town and follows the main
character Liesel.
She has to leave her family and gets taken in by the
Huberman's.
