Victoria’s life during her reign:
Queen Victoria’s reign lived through the golden age of industry, science, conquests,
literature and religion of State.
Indeed, Great Britain was the first country to know the
industrial revolution, and consequently becomes, the first worlds.
Thanks to technological
innovations in agriculture, industry and transport, it’s became the first supplier of the
world.
Prosperity and economic power of Great Britain during the reign of Queen Victoria
come from these transformations had also enable at the country to conquered new territories
and to become the first colonial empire in the world.
She married with the Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha on 10 February 1840 and
they had 8 children: Victoria, Edouard, Alice, Alfred, Helena, Louise, Arthur, Leopold and
Beatrice.
During her first pregnancy, a young man tried to kill her, but he failed.
In 1842,
Queen was the sitting duck of 3 murders attempts but it failed .
Her husband wasn’t only her partner, little by little; he became a queen advisor, replacing
Melbourne.
His influence expanded whereas Melbourne’s influence reduces.
Their marriage
was happy, and they really loved each other.
But unfortunately, the King dead on 14
December 1961by the fever typhoid and his death affected greatly Victoria who wore only
blacks’ clothes and avoided to go out during a long time.
Because of her isolation, we called
“The widow of Windsor”.
On the other hand, she confided only in a domestic, John Brown.
The peoples began to suspect her to have a relationship with him; some said that they were
married in secret and called Victoria “Mrs.
Brown”.
Moreover, before to die, she asked to
put in her coffin, Albert’s dressing gown and lock’s John.
On 22 September, Queen Victoria became the monarch of the history English, Highland
and British who reined the longest time.
During her last year, her life is marked by the death
of her son, Alfred, the disease of her daughter, Victoria, and the death of two of her great-
children.
Her last public apparition was on 1899 when she put down the first stone of the
new building “South Kensington Museum”, became Victoria and Albert Museum.
She
spends the Christmas at the Wight Island.
She’s dead over there on 22 January1901.
Her
funeral was on 2 February and she was buried in the mausoleum Frogmore, in Windsor, in
front of Albert’s lock.
With Victoria’s death, this is the end of the House of Hanover..
