The frontier with Croatia is being disputed by the two states over a third of its length.
On the South-Eastern slopes of the Alps, Slovenia is at the cross-roads of Europe
between Italy, Austria, Hungary and Croatia. This country can be divided into three regions, alpine mountains in the North, limestone plateaux and mountain ranges in the centre and plains and hills of the Sava and Drava river basins, tributaries of the Danube.
