The war in Bosnia-Herzegovina has so far resulted in 200 000 deaths and 2.7 million displaced people.
It is a conflict which, at the present time, has displaced the largest number of refugees ever.
This is a region fairly inaccessible high land intersected by long valleys. The area known as Herzegovina is the Southern third of the country near the coast,
and Bosnia the central mountains.
