Notion : PLACES AND FORMS OF POWER

Devoir d'anglais Notion : PLACES AND FORMS OF POWER I am going to introduce the notion places and forms of power. First of all, I would like to give a dinition of this notion: A place can also be a country or a state - A power is the ability to control others, events, or resources; the ability to make things happen despite obstacles, resistance, or opposition. This of course leads to conflict between those who have power and those who don't. There are various powers in the world: I wouldn't more in details the power of media, economic power and the power of guns. To illustrate this three power, i have chosen 3 documents. First, I'll introduce the power of the media. But in particular I will talk about the power of advertising on consumers. For this, I'll would support me on a Monica Radjpal story in the journal CNN. The text shows that advertising controls our lives because it tells us that we need something even before we think. She cites campaigns. She tells her exprérience where she met the directors of advertising campaign that gave him advice. Advertising is everywhere in the world and in all places. It grows to consume human again and again. Before a product for sale so it pushes everybody in a society of mass consumption: everyone wants to have the same product that can be revolucionnaire. But she concluded by saying that although this advertising the power to push us to consume one is able to controler and choose what is simply necessary to man.   for example the USA is a state which is powerful enough to influence events throughout the world (superpower) and China is a major economic power in today's world.
