Lance Amstrong scandale Lance Armstrong was born on September 18th, 1971 in Dallas (Texas), is an American racing cyclist, a world champion on road in 1993. Nicknamed " the boss ", he is especially famous to have held seven winner's consecutive titles of the Tour de France what established the record absolved in this test. On July 4, 1999 Lance Armstrong tested positive for steroids after the first stage of the Tour de France. In august 2005 The newspaper "L'Equipe" publishes the results of recent analysis of urine samples taken from Armstrong during the 1999 Tour de France and frozen by a French laboratory. These samples were tested positive for erythropoietin (EPO). "I have never doped, I can say it again," the Texan immediately reacts. On 20 May 2010 the American Floyd Landis, stripped of his victory in the Tour de France 2006 after testing positive for testosterone, admits he doped during his career and accuses his compatriot, who was his leader in team US Postal, have done the same. The United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) became interested in the case Armstrong. The USADA in June 2012 opens disciplinary proceedings against the cycling star. Lance Armstrong denounces the lack of evidence. He attacks against the civil courts but does not succeed. The August 23-24 Lance Armstrong gives up appeal against doping charges from USADA. The next day, this one announce that it banished for life from cycling and withdraws all securities acquired since 1998.
