jeanneney: a life devoted to the state

1 I'm going to talk about jean noel jeannney and his life devoted to the state so first of all by talking about his youth (family and studies) and 1 Jean-Noël Jeanneney was born on 2 April 1942 in Grenoble in a large family of 8 children (including pierre alain jeanneney,, a lawyer and state counsillor) . He is the son of Marie laure monod and Jean-Marcel Jeanneney who's an anciant Minister of State, Keeper of the Seals, and Minister of Justice under the alain poher governent, and the minister of state, industry and of the social affairs under the charles de gaulles gouvernement, and was also the grandson of Jules Jeanneney, deputy, senateur and president of the senate under the 3d republic, and minister of state under the de gaulle's government. 2 After his secondary schooling in Grenoble, Jeanneney studied in Paris. Beginning at the rue d'Ulm campus of the École Normale Supérieure, he later studied at the Paris Institute of Political Studies. He earned his doctorate in letters and passed his agrégation ) in history in 1965. 3  so after he received his agrégation teaching degree in history, he was appointed assistant at the university of paris in 1969, then became a teaching assistant in modern history. He's also teaching in the Paris Institute of Political Studies after being one of it's pupple, and so after the obtain of his doctorate in letter, was apointted university professor in 1977.He is specialized in political and cultural history, also in the history of the medias which he has pioneered. He then got interested in the evolution of the written press, the radio and the television. 4 after have studied it he then participated to the media in specially in radio and television and became the general manager of Radio france and Radio france international from 1982 to 1986. He gave the news every morning of France inter, developped the public service radio's network, settled the france culture's nights, and founded the festival of radio france and of monpellier. Then he worked at television, in specially for the chanel Chaine Histoire in which he chaired the scintific committee from 1997 to 2004. Since 1999 he also shows every week on france culture a broadcast giving a historical look on actuality entitled Concordance des temps. For the written press he also became the redaction counsellor of the magzine L'histoire since its creation in 1978. He also is the honorary president of the Pessac international festival of the history movie since 1990, 5 president of the scientific counsellor of the Rendez vous de l'histoire of Blois which is an annual meeting of all people passionates by history since 2003, president of the jury of the history book senate award since 2007 and finally the author of many documentries for television . 6 Francois mitterand made him in 1989 the president of the french revolution and of the Declaration ofthe Rights of Man and of the Citizen bicentnary mission,and in this role organized many celebrations around this anniversary, in france and foreign. In politics jeanneney is close of the socialist parti and is appointed twice state secretary by francois mitterand during his 2nd seven-year term, so first in 1991 as a state secretary for foreign trades, and then in 1992 as a state secretary of communication, in which he passed the audiovisual legal deposit law of the 20 of june 1992. He also became from 1992 to 1998 a member of the conseil regionnal of Franche Compte. 7 From 2002 to 2007, Jeanneney has been president of the international french library In this capacity, he has been noted for his opposition to Google Book Search. [1]Since making his objections known, he has been looking to develop a European digitization program to be run by governmental authorities. 8 On the 7th of june 2009 he's also elected president of the Rencontres d'arles, which is the biggest french photographs exposition 9 Jean-Noël Jeanneney has also published works on media history, other works of history, essays on various subjects and has written prefaces for several works. For example here we have the "Quand google defit l'europe" work, in which he explains his objections to google book search, the 'concordence des temps' s one that he wrote in the same principle that his weekly broadcast on france culture, that is to say to link the historical facts and actuality. Or for example the biography he made on The politician George clemenceau entitled "portrait d'un homme libre" 10 In 1990 he became a knight of the legion of honour in 1995 he became a officier  of the National Order of Merit before to become in 2007 a Commander of the National Order of Merit and also became from 2005 a doctor honris causa of the Université libre de Bruxelles. CONCLUSION Jean noel jeanneney, really had a life devoted to the state. even if we could call him a Jack-of-all-trades, he'is especially interested in history, and by its particulary interest on history of france by the first and second world war, the duty of remembrance and the evolution of the medias, or on french traditions like in his book "le duel" or on french characters by his biographie of George Clemenceau. Also by it's involvment in politics, involvment already in place in his family.
