What are the motivations of these people? What are the consequences of these permutations? They want to have a better life. They want to work to have money in order to help their families. In their country of origin the life isn't good. A lot of families live in poverty. When people migrate the majority go to the United States. They want to live the American dream. It's an idea which say when we arrive in America we can make a lot of money be rich have a good life thanks to his courage, determination and in working hard. But this idea is not always true. Few people live the American dream. It's a fantasy. The migrants when they arrive in America work hard but their live don't be spectacular. Lives are better but not extraordinary. Despite this people still believe it. We can take for example the Mexicans migrants. They left their country to live in the United States. A lot of them want to live the American Dream. But it's not always the case. Some migrants live in bad conditions. It's difficult to them to get use to her new lives. They don't speak English, they don't have many qualifications but they want to be useful to the society. Thanks to that we have exchanges between different societies. The culture widens. The United States is a place of lot of culture because much people immigrate in the USA. We have Mexican, Italian, Chinese culture in the USA. There are some quarters of foreign cultures. We see a new phenomenon in the USA, it's the Mexamerica. It's the south part of the USA where there are many Latin-American populations. Consequently we have a mix of the American culture and the Hispanic culture. By means of this we have now some advertisement in English and in Spanish in the USA. It shows the exchanges between different societies. People move for immigrate and have a better life because they're poor. But it's not the only case. Some people move for discover new countries or cultures but they don't immigrate, they travel. They go in other country and they learn other culture and they can discover these cultures at other people. To take advantage of her trip some people take a gap year. It's a year who a person doesn't work so they can have a rest and travel, write, and give time to his activities. Thanks to that he can discover new cultures and improves his appreciations. Many people during her gap year travel because it's the better time to do it. They visit a lot of countries, they go around the world. Visit countries is a good way to improve his exchanges We can discover new cultures thanks to the studies. Indeed some people go to abroad to study. They can discover a new language, a new way of life. A lot of students want to go in English-speaking country to be able to speak English and learn the culture of these countries. Even if students go to other country to learn new cultures, other students go the university thanks to their sports qualities. Some pupils are recruited by university to play in their team. In this case it's the best player of her ages (they're all 18). Many sportsmen (it's particularly American football players and basketballs players) of 18 want to go to these university, because after that they can play in the professional league so they can be professional sportsmen.
