Non-Muslim peoples make up the majority of the population in southern Chad. These groups include the Sara, Ngambaye, Mbaye, Goulaye, Moundang, Moussei, and Massa. Languages French (official), Arabic (official); more than 100 different languages and dialects are spoken.
