Amish

   In 1693, to Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines, when a bishop, Jakob Amman ( 1645-1730 ), leaves the Swiss branch of Mennonites, after tried to mobilize the Brothers of Alsace for a simpler life. In 1712, Louis XIV tries to move the Brothers. The track of Jakob Amman gets lost, but we find the Brothers in the United States of America.At this moment, Amish settle down in USA.   The majority of the Amish Old Order, very rigorous, which groupsincludes 47 000 persons around Pennsylvania, 55 000 in Ohio, 37 000 in Indiana and 59 000 in the other States in the United States (as well as in Ontario, in Canada).    Amish speaks about three languages:-The Old High German -They speak the Dutch of Pennsylvania, which is a German dialect with English people certain words in the middle.-They speak english with people who aren't Amish.    Life is centered around the farm, where most things are made to the former, without the benefit of modern technology. Also the food, livestock, and drinks must be produced by them. Families are large and close and children have to work very early. Their means of transport are horse carts, whose style varies by region.As far as the clothes, all the women wear a grey dress with a white heads cover and an apron. But this style change according to the region; Like for the men. Mens in adulthood have a beard which means marriage.  The Amish families are patriarchal and the concerns of women are for his family. She is in charge of the house and garden, which usually includes vegetables and flowers.It may be involved in the production of clothin and she often like embroidery and quilting.
