Extrait du document
In this powerful painting Van Gogh combined several of his most favoured images. As he said eight years previously: 'There is something infinite in painting - I cannot explain it to you so well -but it was so delightful just for expressing one's feeling. There are hidden harmonies or contrasts in colours which involuntarily combine to work together and which could not possibly be used in another way.'
