Extrait du document
When Van Gogh first arrived in Aries in February 1889 the whole of the Midi region was covered in snow. It had been one of the coldest winters for a long time and it lasted well into March. It was not until April that he was able to paint outside properly, and then we begin to see the effect on him of this new landscape and its bright, southern light.
